So im going to remove one of the rear rotors since its pretty worn... any quick tips you guys can suggest before i take a crack at it... or its the same as every other car. Should i use the good ol rubber hammer? Any tips would be awesome to make the job go easy...

Your going to need to tool to screw in the rear caliper. id hope you are doing pads and rotors at the same time.
Autozone rents the caliper tool for 50$, when you return it you get your money back. It can be done without the tool but since the tool is free and doesnt chew up your postin as much its a no brainer to get one and use it.
As far as the rest goes it doesnt matter what you use to get the rear rotor off. If its stuck just give it a good wack. Youll relaize that the caliper mounting bracket needs to come off as well.

Well i already changed my pads recently i guess i shoulda done it then. So i have to take the caliper apart again? Why do i need the tool if i already changed my pads... i just want to take the rotor off...

You'll only need the tool if you are replacing the pads or the rotor. I assume you are replacing the rotor. The new one will be thicker than the old worn down one, thus the caliper piston will need to the pushed in some to make room.

you'll have no trouble getting the rotor off. I too live in a winter wonderland and at 60,000 miles I changed my rotors. they came off with no problems! But yeah, like you said, if it is stuck just give it a little tap.

you have to take the caliper off, and remove the caliper mounting bracket - before the rotor will come off. It is held on by locking spring washers around twl of the wheel studs - just use needle nose pliers to work those up and off the studs.
The caliper mounting bracket is held in place by two bolts from the backside of the spindle. Make sure to use locktite on the threads when you re-install them.
