Rear-ended

So I just got rear-ended doing about 35mph. I hit the brakes... other guy in a POS early 90's Grand Prix... did not. I'll need a new bumper without a doubt. I'll take pictures when it's light out (shame... first pictures of my LS on LVC will be from a wreck!)

So, I don't remember... is there any difference between a standard Gen II rear bumper and an LSE Gen II rear bumper?

Don't believe so. I think what made the difference on the LSEs was the valence panels, but I could be wrong.

Sucks about the bumper. But on the bright side, you get some money out of it! And if you play your cards right, you can get it fixed and have some to spare.

So the rear valances were different? Because I'll be needing those too!

I know there were two different styles. There was the plain black textured plastic that were on the Luxury models, and then there was a set that was un-textured and painted that came on the sport models. I don't fully recall if there was any difference between the Sport and LSE ones though.

I believe the trunk lids and bumper are different from gen 1 to gen 2. I remember reading a post from someone who got rear ended and swapped out for a gen 2 rear end.

I know they are different from gen I to gen II in general. I was just trying to figure out if there is a difference in the bumper/rear valance of the Gen II sport and Gen II LSE

LSE's dont have valances.

Your right but the LSE does not have a valance, its a rear lip therefore its made out of thicker material than a standard hard vinyl valance.

If Im correct.

If for some reason you get rid of the liscence plate surround i'd be interested. I want a black one, I already took the bumper chrome off and I'm thinking about a black surround.
