Just wondering I think they are the same but are the punkins the same in gen 1's and gen 2's. I have a spare and would like to build it up and put it in my gen 2 to wake it up.
 
basically, all the same.
the base models had 3.07, LSCs with 3.27. all open diffs.
 
I would Terry but the trip got cancelled and besides that i would like to give my mark a boost with 3.73's and a trac lock(: Last weekend i got smoked all the way up to 95 by a 08 g37): wasnt to happy about that. These new v6's really kick our a$$ lol. Any mark 8 owner try and race a new Chrysler product with their new v6, wow i was surprised they stay with you up until 80 then the mark leaves them. And my mark isn't stock either lol
 
If you're spending the $ on gears for pep...then don't waste it on 3:73, get 4:10
 
4.10's are perfect for these cars...I should have went with 4.30's or higher, but i plan to add boost and a manual trans so the 4.10's should be right on with a sticky enough tire.

Might have been better off with 373's but I'll have plenty of fun roasting off the tires if I cant get it to stick to the street, so its win-win. :shifty::D

4.10s or bust ;)
 
with 4.10's will the engine be screaming at 80mph because i do a lot of hwy miles. what rpm is the engine cruising at 70 with 4.10's?
 
Ok that isn't bad at all. 4.10's here i come, Do the 4.10's with a trac lock make a big deference on the 1/4 mile?

The difference between 373's and 4.10's is like 300 rpms...

Ford racing 4.10's for the 8.8 (or 373s) whatever you choose. Mostly everyone can agree that no one has anything bad to say bout 4.10s in these cars..

Our Diffs and axles are 28 spline, so is the 99 cobra which is why you use those hubs and parts for the hubswap/diff.

Later cobras with IRS used 31 spline axles, hubs, diffs, which you can use, but you need to get Custom Halfshafts made and unless your pushing 600+ hp 28 spline is sufficent.

All Cobras ('99-'04) have 28 spline hubs.

'99 Cobras have 28 spline diffs, '01+ are 31 spline.
