well its time to change my rear pads, so i went out and i bought the cube tool, in which it didnt work at all. I was able to turn the piston a bit but it seemed like it was never going to compress. I put everything back together. Is the other tool easier to use? and where can i find it, b/c they didnt have it at autozone. Shoud i try discount auto or pep boys?

This is the tool you need. Makes it SO much easier.

thanks for the thread i had already read it, thats how i learned about the cube tool, but it seemed useless so im going to return it. quik do you know where i can buy that other tool set?

in the link above it stated that you can either buy it or use it from the 'loan a tool' program from most auto stores.

I bought mine from habor freight.

I use a tool from NAPA that has the proper matching teets and a round, flat face that matches the piston face perfectly. I place it into a 3/8" drive drill chuck tool, remove the rotor, remount the caliper, and then I can apply pressure into the piston face while triggering the drill. It also helps to spray a bit of silicone lube spray on the dust boot to piston groove junction before attempting this.

All that said, I would love to use that harbor freight tool set next time! :D

i bought the tool at napa, it cost me 69 bucks, but it worked like a charm, now im debating if to take the kit back or to keep it. lol!!
