Radio sucks when Defroster on...

I know the Antenna is in the rear window but whenever the radio and defroster is on the reception is all static....YOu would think that Ford would have thought of this and had a fix???

you have something wrong in the rear defroster probably a bad switch.

I have the exact same problem in my Mark VIII, I have replaced the switch and it made no difference.

Check the connectors on the passenger side where the the C pillar cover them on the glass, both are known to break.

It's a bad ground wire some where in there. Does it do it also when you turn the radio to am?

Radio Static when the rear defroster is on

I had the same situation occur on the '01 LS V8. After using the shop manual write-up for checking the rear defroster grid, I found several breaks. I bought the repair kit made by Permatex and now no more radio static.

Thanks Guys...Checked the connector on the drivers side and seems fine....sorry..I forgot to mention that it comes and goes....be all static..than come clear than go back to static....I hate intermittent problems
