i installed leds in my front map lights a few weeks ago and today in my car my gf was looking for something and turned it on for a min or 2 and all the sudden all the lights on the radio shut off and the radio itself shuts off. i turned off the lights and it comes back on i then do it again and it shuts off but this time the radio doesnt turn back on. is it that the leds are using too much power or is it a fuse ?

Led's use less than the filament bulbs. Weird stuff going on there.

ground short

check your work for a ground short open wire or wires crossed. sometimes you also get some weird stuff going on when the battery is going bad, or clockspring is going bad. any other symptoms? I enjoy working on old radios, and you find that the capacitors fail as the radio ages, I swap out the capacitors to bring it back to life. However, I've never heard of an LS radio problem. if all was working before you put in the leds and now it fails, i would check your work first.

It's possible that your battery is getting weak and its voltage got a little low while the key was on with the engine off. (I'm assuming that the engine was off when this happened.)

make sure that a wire didnt get pinched when you put the dome light back together
