Radio HELP ASAP!!!

Some of you may remember I was having trouble with my radio acting up. Basically what happens is I am getting VERY loud crackling and popping from the speakers, even with the radio completely powered off.

Well all that started before I made the trip home from carlise. The only thing I can do to get it to stop is pull the fuse for the radio.

The first thing I did was buy a used amp and see if swapping the factory jbl amp would solve the problem, but it does the exact same thing with the used amp as well.

I then figured It must be my expensive Avic D3 unit, so I took it out and put the factory head unit back in, and I thought it was fixed until I was coming home from work today and It starts crackeling and popping like crazy again.

So now I have no idea whats wrong and looks like I will have no radio on the 300+ mi Boscobel trip tomorrow.

Sounds like what my 97 was doing with a bad amp....

A new amp fixed it though...maybe your replacement amp is busted also.

+1 I am on my 3rd amp I would bet that 2nd one was junk also get out the getto box and a converter

AVIC has more power and is cleaner. Rewire the speakers and bypass the factory amp.

Bet it's a loose ground somewhere in the system.

My jbl system was fine till I pulled it out at 136k..Still sounded like :q:q:q:q though.
