silly question perhaps, but why are some rads $200 (ACDelco) while others are $100? do they more expensive models do something different?
 
Go back in time a few weeks and buy the radiators on sale at Amazon for 25 dollars.

you mean the plastic npt/barb? or the 3M 04747? that would prolly work, but it's about $70 or more for the epoxy and gun

...the point of breakage is almost flush to the tank, mendng with or without an metal inner sleeve will be a long shot....I'll just buy a new all-metal radi....pay my $100 and swallow my 'stupid' medicine :slam

done, purchased, soon to be en route...I was skeptical b/c that's the only place I've seen an all aluminum radi...and they've had 17 negative feedbacks this month...but they've had over 1900 posi feedbacks this month

re; trans...will I lose trans fluid and is replacing the radi a good time to remove and upgrade the factory tranny cooler?
 
Apparently they sell other parts like mirrors and stuff too... I looked thru a lot of feedback and not much on the radiators.

Shepherdautoparts.com sells one too. Identical. Except they're out of stock.

Please let me know your experience with this new radiator. Its on my list of things to get to make my car roadworthy again.

Can't view the link from my phone, what is the radiator if its all aluminum? Is it a direct replacement mark viii radiator with built in trans cooler? Also no you won't lost any trans fluid besides what's in your radiator and maybe a little from what's in the trans lines which is pretty much nothing, just top it off when you hook it back up.
 
new replacement radi lists:
trans oil cooler: yes
engine oil cooler: no
 
The trans cooler is built into the radiator, so when you replace the radiator, you're also replacing the stock trans cooler.
There's a few of us that use a stand alone trans cooler thou

Marks don't have an oil cooler, but you can install one from a CV

the tank wall turns out to be about 1/4'' thick- that's good
-1/4'' (and 3/8'') NPT is 18 threads per inch (1/8'' NPT is 27 tpi)...so getting a snug seal is more likely...buy more tools to maybe save a plastic tank...or just concede r/r

Just replace w/ aluminum one. Bust the plastic tanks off yours and bust the trans oil coolers out of the tanks and scrap the aluminum and the brass.

Take a flat head screw driver and pry the little tabs away from the tank, you only have to pry the ends and along one side, then you can roll the tank out from under the remaining crimps along the side that you didn't pry away. Doing it this way is easy, and as stated above will increase its scrap metal value into the "clean aluminum" bracket. Remove the trans lines fittings and save them in a brass recycle container for later as it'll take while to collect enough brass to be worth trading in
I think removing the tanks before scrapping will about double its value if not slightly more
 
radiator

Did'nt want to wait to get all alm off the web Had to pick up a garage at PB's so I got a radiator while I was there. It has plastic tanks, but the orginal lasted since 95. My shock that made me happy"made in Canada", not china. The bad the leak stopped. Gonna change it next week. Hope it lasts as long as the orginal, then again I hope I last that long. :D
 
just got back from a test drive; no oil leak and one small coolant leak (loose clamp at bottom of the therm housing)...now she's all dry!.....and i have a new in box all alum radi not being used...maybe I'll sell it

well, assuming I won't need it, I'm not gonna lose money...I paid $99 (tax in Ga)
