:( For some reason the hose that goes from the intake manifold to the coolant hose managed to break off the plastic that holds it on to the radiator hose. Its hard to explain, but basically I think I need a new radiator hose. I called a couple local ford dealers, and found one that would get it next day for $70. and i guess lucky for me, i have a friend who can get me a discount there. so mayb $50.

Has anyone had this happen? I tried finding this hose at every autoparts store i could think of, but i had no luck at all. I also thought of rigging something up, but i think the pressure would be too much. I also do not know if it is really just called a radiator hose, or hose assembly or something different

I had the same thing happen to a couple of my cooling lines including the upper radiator hose. The plastic nipples get dry-rotted and fall off due to the pressure. Just replace the hose and stop worrying about it.

If it is the upper radiator hose for a v8 I have a used one. $25.00 shipped is someone wants it. This hose has a plastic connector molded in with about a 3/8 nipple coming off of it.

If it is for the V6, it is a dealer item for $300+

its a v6, i think $50 dollars from the dealer isnt too bad if your thinking its going to cost $300. I just hope they were giving me the price for the one i need.

this link shows a diagram of the engine, but the actual hose that i need is not labeled with the part #. also the $300 hose isnt specified in the picture

Yeah, different hose that was I was thinking. I was thinking the upper radiator hose, the one with the bleed valve located in it. Not labeled on the diagram here. I just bought one myself and it hurt to pay that much at the dealer.

Good luck with this!

ok these are the pictures of the hose that i need. I talked to the guy from the dealership, but the part # he gave me had a description online for the v8. He did describe exactly where the hose went, so I will have to wait and see what happens

That is the upper radiator hose. Right at the joint that broke off there is a bleed valve for the coolant. This is the expensive one! It comes as a hose assembly and includes the thermostat and housing and about three other hoses coming off that plastic piece. Looks like a spider when you pull it out of the box at the dealership. I looked for a week to find a used one, but the only one I could find was at the dealer. This is what you need> http://www.fordparts.com/Commerce/C...HaGlzdG9yeQUEdHJ1ZbeJQwrDnn1brKWLK+LH7viyyDAr

do you remember how much you paid craig? the link you posted doesnt show the part. just sends me a page to look up the part myself. I had my friend buy the part at the dealer. they gave him the wrong one. But i printed out the picture for the one i need, so hopefully theyll get it right on monday. As long as the hose doesnt cost $300 ill be happy.

I paid about $320.00 with tax. :eek::mad::mad:

the number you want is an 8B502. search for my illus "ls6hose" and you will see that tube it lists over 300.00 and I do not remember your cost but I can do much better than that. That nipple always breaks off and I sell a lot of them. Ill try to get that illus here for you.

I think you want the "base" number 8B502 as shown in this illus...P/N YW4Z-8B502-AA

Ok retail is 301.24 and lvc is $176.23 plus shipping. We have one in stock ready to ship. Just call "larry" at 1800-866-1520 ask for parts and tell him you are an lvc member and give him the p/n and price I quoted you

me too

had mine break in the same spot, dealer cost $220. I was wondering if a local welder could build that piece less than $100 in chrome? and just use regular hose clamps? or maybe cut off the end and use PVC pipe to replace the cracked piece?

just received the hose in the mail. I didn't kno it was going to come with the thermostat and housing, but i guess i just have a spare now. :)

I would also like to add that Max and Five Star Ford are awesome. Best experience i have had dealing with a dealership. They answered the phone quickly, and everyone was friendly. My local ford dealerships always take forever to have someone from parts pickup, and for some reason they kept thinking i wanted a $70 hose for a V8.
I know where i will order parts from now.

I just noticed my wives V6 LS had no heat. Looked at the hoses and noticed the top hose was weaping enough coolant to stop flow to heater core. I got my hose from the dealer but got good deal $196. I ordered the other hoses too while I was there. I want her to be leak free. I do wish Ford would just sell one top hose and not the whole ball of wax.

Where did you get this to buy? Canada or in the states, can you please provide the dealer contact info. i need the upper assembly where the nipple line run to the intake, i understand they only sell the whole thing and not the plastic section only.
