Quick question

The one on the pedal? Or the one on the Throttle body?

The one on the pedal is either a pedal position sensor or pedal travel sensor I believe. The throttle body probably has to be replaced as a unit so it probably doesn't matter what its called. :p

on the throttle body.. Google has failed me yet again I cant fin anythign on it..

It's a separate part, believe it or not.
Ford calls it the TP sensor (Throttle Position).
Ford part number 9E928.

The manual says that you can't reuse a TP sensor after you remove it. It also says that the two screws that it mounts with can't be reused.

The correct number is 6L2Z-9B989-C and is listing at 82.27 and LVC is 48.13 plus shipping.

Yes, I have noticed that the service manuals frequently have incorrect or incomplete part numbers.
Thanks,

This is gonna be for a 05 Mustang GT so the part number will be differant, its gonna go on my LS tho, thanks for the info but Im a little confused cause I thought thats what the TPS is that almost all injected cars have even if they are normal linkage? I need to know what the motor thing is called that actually opens the butterfly via drive by wire..

Well then, why did you ask for the sensor if what you really wanted was the activator?

AFAIK, they don't sell that separately. You have to buy the whole throttle assembly, called the Electronic Throttle Body. So, how are you going to get a 4.6L's throttle body to work on the LS?

Well I didnt know what the hell it was called so I figured hey its got a plug in its some type of sensor that maybe read what the pedal sensor is saying to it? Idk and thanks for the info and yes the connectors are the same..

It's actually a servo motor that moves the throttle plates open or closed based on a control voltage supplied by the engine computer. The engine calculates what position the throttle plates need to be in based on several factors, one of which is the position of the gas pedal. It then looks at the TP sensor to see what position the throttle plates are in. If they aren't in the right position, it adjusts the voltage to the servo motor to either open or close the throttle plates some.
