What are the wires under the hood that attach into the insulation on the underside of the hood? They hook into a loop in the insulation and the other side onto a nut on the inner fender wall. Looks like a ground of sorts but I'm unsure.

Wires for the underhood light perhaps? Just a guess...

They are just grounding straps. 95 and earlier had an under hood light, but it is wired directly and does not ground to the hood.

I think that they are there to help stop radio frequency (RF) noise. The gen 1 hoods are composite so they need the extra help.

My 94's have hood lights and they already have ground wires for them.

Haha now im confused! I have an underhood light with the wiring, plus ground straps too. I just assumed they were to do with that light. Why a composite hood needs ground straps is beyond me. Plastic doesnt conduct electricity very well.

The inside of the hoodliner has an aluminum coating. This is what the straps are connected to.

Had a look tonite. I see what you guys mean now. :)
