Ok, so I've reached a decision to put away the Mark VIII until I have a job. I have run out of funds & my neighbor that told me he would help me replace my transmission about 3 weeks ago has completely sold me out. Car's have come & gone from his house & he doesn't even look my way. I can tell he doesn't want anything to do with my car. I don't have the time or money to dedicate to the car at this point & instead of parting out a good car or getting crap cash for it as is I'll be putting the car away for the next 3 months, maybe even longer until I have a stable job & the cash to swap the transmission, fix that retarded air suspension that continues to give me problems & replace the bad muffler. It's either this option or sell the car as is which I'm not going to do.

Ok, so here's the question, my exhaust is completely unbolted & the transmission on my car has all the plugs off & some interior parts of the tranny have been taken out as well(filter,1/2 gear springs, 3/4 shift solenoid). That being said, the car won't start because the tranny's unplugged. The car has not been started in about 7-8 weeks & it won't be started for another 3 months. What can I expect from not starting the car in that length of time? What should I do when i'm ready to crank it for the first time?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Alex is the tranny ready to get put on? dont feel bad man im having tranny issues with the g/f volkswagen beetle....in which i put to much money into to just get rid off for some change money. I went out and bought her a 95 2 door civic EG stick shift....and let me tell ya those lil suckers can move.

U don't have to tell me that, hence the reason why all my friends hate my cars. They are all import fans & all their cars MOVE. They all own Honda/Toyota/Nissan, etc... You are the only one that shares the same love for Ford, lol. You met Danny, he has a2002 Honda S2000 that is gorgeous. He barely moves it though. It's a Collector's Edition with only 60,000 miles on it. He loves that thing.

Dude, the transmission's ready to come down Marv but I'm not going to install the 98 I purchased from Frank. I'm going to sell that tranny on craigslist. I don't trust it & don't want to end up wasting my time. I won't be touching the car until I have the money to install one from a transmission shop with warranty & that takes a steady income.

If I was closer man I would help you throw that sucker in. Keep that 98 transmission for when you have some cash and build it up, make it strong.

People think rebuilding auto transmissions is rocket science, it isn't. I've done a few myself.

Disable the spark and fuel and crank the engine over to prime the oiling system, fill with fresh gas and start.

I think I can do the same exact thing by just pressing the gas pedal to the floor then cranking. It'll turn over but it won't start. That should do the trick.

Bouncer, the problem is I don't have the proper car jack to bring down or put up the transmissions & the place I'm doing this at is VERY uncomfortable. The car cannot move so I can't take it anywhere else to do this in a more comfortable place + I still need to buy a new seal & I should get a new torque converter since I'm already taking everything apart & I can't even afford that right now otherwise I would do it.

Ahhh I see. I always forget I bought a shop for a reason. That sucks man but I am sure there is someone here on the boards willing to help.

BTW can you send me some pics of your car via PM, interested in seeing how it sits, looks awesome in the sig.

Here she is. Just went outside & took a couple pictures. These pics are from 10 minutes ago so they don't get any fresher than this. The back is on stock wheels because since the suspension is not working when the bags deflate the fender bites the tires on those Cobra wheels & they get jammed in the fender while the stocks can clear the fender without a problem even when it's slammed. There's also a car jack sitting under the pumpkin to prevent it from slamming.
