showed up today. im gonna just wire/clamp it in place so i can drive to an exhaust shop and get it welded in since they wont cut out the old 3rd cat and put this in. im hoping for at least a little gain and to get rid of that damn smell every time i get on it.

I may be buying that kit but I don't want the x-pipe. If I have to buy those pipes with the x-pipe, i may sell the X itself.

go for it. good quatilty from what ive seen, and includes all hardware, clamps, and hangers

Is that kit stainless? Any link to it, maybe I missed it somewhere. I'll just hack mine off a little after the high flow cats and drive it to a place that I know does good work with the mandrel bends and welding. I lost my welder in the fire and not buying another one because it would never get used again anytime soon.

I love my Welding machine...scored it Brand New at a pawn shop, stand and all fittings for the feeder for $300, and it's an $800 machine new :) even got a 150 bottle for the price of an 80.
Had Bill modify the machine some, just removed the stock power cord and installed a bigger one..it lays wonderful bead now

Maybe one day ill get a..

I had a few tanks and luckily, three of them were empty. There was a lot of heat right there and if you look close, you can see the Lincoln welder, up above the jack on a stand I built for it. Really, it was a welder holder built onto a set of hand trucks. Anyway, the whole front melted and I gave it away to the Mexican guy that done the clean up out there. Gave away the tanks to him too. He made off with a lot of stuff that day. Almost everything in that pic, he took. Those wheels too. Snowflakes lol

Update. Sawzalled that old 3rd cat off, and drove open headers to the exhaust shop. Ill let you know tomorrow how I like it

What are you doing today that's so important you can't make a quick YouTube. ...Tease!

Double post edit- hmm that hasn't happened in a while-there must be some new phone out

Haha I should have shot a quick video of the open manifolds. It was super loud, and it didn't really run any faster, and it sounded like a rusty hillbilly pickup when you gave it any gas. It sounded badass on startup though lol

bump again. i just got it back. they moved the crossover location back about 8 inches, which i can feel in the lower rpms (a bit of low torque was lost). however, higher up in the revs it really comes to life, and i can feel the exhaust flowing better, and the car is faster. it sounds pretty crackly now, especially when the revs fall from higher rpms. i think its the 4th exhaust setup ive had now lol. thanks for the advice everybody!

I thought about it but then heard a Dynomax Ultraflow X muffler on a Mark:
It has nice growl and you can actually hear it idle and at light throttle. The Magnaflows are just too quiet for normal driving unless you are WOT (had them on two other cars).

Magnaflow makes a 2 1/2" dual in and out X-Pipe resonator that sounds good and is loud. I know this video high lights the Thunderbird but if watch you will notice the sound is almost all my Lincoln. Supercharged Mark VIII Vs Supercharged Thunderbird - YouTube
