Eh, I believe I got a good offer on it, won't be here until Tuesday I believe, lets just hope it works! If I feel it doesn't do anything for the car, or it doesn't work for the fact I have trac assist, then I will just sell it on here. Just giving everyone a heads up! :D
 
My 93 that came with a W3Z2 has traction control. They all did but the Gen 1s only have it up to 35 mph while the Gen 2 have it for all speeds. I'm not sure if you can switch the Gen 2s off like the Gen 1s though.
 
I just ordered my W3Z2 as well, for my '94. It should arrive here by Tuesday also. We can compare notes along its progress.

Although mine will come with an aggressive tuned, RPC Delta chip. I read somewhere that the chip will not work with any other EEC with a different catch code if I decide to swap out the chip to my factory EEC.

Is there any other reason why I should not do a J-mod to mine when the W3Z2 would provide the improved shifts that is expected with W3Z2 swap? I won't be doing any drag racing but I still want that performance on the street.
 
I'm happy with my z2. It did wake the car up a bit more, especially on no ethanol premium. I'm going to go ahead and do the jmod on my car, if for nothing else, longevity of the trans. It could still stand some slightly stiffer shifts, although the z2 did seem to help some.
 
If your going to run a stock computer then the z2 is the way to go and yes I
have one in my 95.

Probably also running the same line pressure as an aftemarket SCT tune for a Gen2. LOL

Chris, I can't believe that you said your car shifts harder than my '97. The line pressure on this tune for my '97 is horrifying and I am having it backed WAY off on the retune. I mean I totally understand what a firm shift is and my '98 cracks the hell out of 2nd gear all motor with all of the springs in also. But this car is clunking the driveline pretty good on a slow 2nd gear rolling shift in a parking lot. I'm certain that something is going to break if I don't change that.

Did you do your own j-mod? You said you left all the springs in, what did you drill holes #1 and #2 out to?

Also, you can replace the 1-2 spring (the one you put in the hole first before the accumulator piston) to a softer spring like a White spring (F7AZ-7F284-AA) or even softer Dark Blue (F7AZ-7F284-CA) and put the spring in after the piston. That should soften your 1-2 shift.

I bought a Dirty Dog plate kit for the 98 and used all of the springs. I'm happy with the way that car shifts. This is the Supercharged 97 that I am referring to. The line pressure is through the roof and I'm fairly certain the JMOD was drilled out for a wild setup. I'm probably going to have the line pressure backed WAY off on the retune and see how it feels then.

Oh, well I have NO experience with modifying a transmission to handle THAT much power! Your tuner should be able to back the pressure way down unless you are WOT when you really need the increased pressure.
 
Jmod, w3z2, and 4.10's/trac lok was a blast for the limited time I ran my car. Curious if my stall converter will make me grin from ear to ear once I punch the throttle :)

3500 and you currently run a stock converter? Oh yeh, definite BIG GRIN! :D
 
Got it in, swapped it out quickly, fired right up. Now, I guess with the added shift pressure, the trans responds quicker, and isn't sluggish. As I used to punch it at 30 and it would have lag, now it does not. Another reason how i know is, when i cruise down a big hill in neutral, and go back into drive, it's instant, as my with my Z4HO, it would take prob 5 seconds to get back into gear. Shifts at 6500, and also my gas mileage went up, not down, well as stated on the message center readout. I also believe my miles to empty, is corrected now. Performance wise, not sure, but didn't expect much from just a swap of the computer. Overall, I am pleased!
 
Now just test it to see if you're speed limited. If you can hit 130+, you shouldn't be limited anymore. If you ever chip that computer, the factory tune doesn't apply anymore. You could add a chip to the Z4HO and have a tune burned to that one and it would be the same as the W3Z2. Both will be equal when chipped. I'm not chipping mine and not modding anything, just wanted the extra 15 psi of fluid pressure for the j-mod.

My W3Z2 also limits at about 127, doesn't matter if in Drive or O/D.....

Someone on here also complained that their mileage went down with the W3Z2. On my LSC, I've noticed the mileage went up!

My mileage went down and isn't limited but I don't have no business around here to be going that fast.
 
my mileage did drop a little. but i didn't complain, merely observed. i don't care about mileage anymore. if i did i'd buy something else.
 
Well, I did it again after work, topped out at 132, same as my Z4HO did. Not sure what the deal is! =/ Eh, hope a valve is not floating, maybe I need to fix my lash adjusters. =/ My mileage has went up though, can't complain. Only way to tell if it had any performance, was to take it to the track, don't plan on doing so anytime soon though. It would also help if I adjusted my shift linkage, car was bouncing off the limiter at 100 and I thought I was in drive, turned out so be second, so I let off and hit it to make sure, dont remember if I felt it move or not, but got back in it and there I was climbing to 132. Also, yes I am not sure if I want to go faster then that, until I get the suspension and everything corrected!

I use my 93 Mark VIII to go down the highway. I use my 95 Suzuki Swift to go out when it's nasty, amazing snow car, and to go to the store, my baby stays inside when it's really ugly..

The Suzuki really does not like much over 65 mph, the Mark is happy happy at about 20 over the limit. I went about 120 miles and back to my buds place at pretty high speed and got the best mileage the car has ever seen, Well since I bought it anyway. I guess it's 'use the right tool' or something. ;)
