The only real issue is in using dino oil, then switching to synthetic after 100K miles. After 100K miles in dino oil, there could be varnish buildup that is plugging seal leaks that developed over time. Synth is more slippery than regular oil, and will clean the varnish out of the engine meaning that a 100K+ engine MAY develop oil leaks shortly after you start using it. This will, of course, depend on how often the dino was changed, how the engine was used, whether it was kept clean on a regular basis, seal composition, ect. Going synth to dino, no problem.
