I've got to replace my Alternator which means I have to remove my PS pump. I had problems with the PS pump during the original swap so I've just left the hardline on and unbolted the PS pump which is a PITA. should the hardline just unscrew from the pump or is it some weird setup?

On my 93, there is a bracket at the pump on the hardline. Remove the bracket bolt and you can get to the hardline nut. If you remove the line you will need to get a new teflon seal before reattaching the line.

can I just teflon tape it or is it some kind of teflon washer?

do not use teflon tape. you need a teflon washer, napa carries them by the hundreds, i know because i just had to get two of them for ripped camel's motor swap twice lmao! the line in the pump is 18 mm

its late so maybe im missing something. Why do
you need to take out the ps to change an Alternator?

Something tells me I'm in for an expensive and time consuming removal of this hard line. The manual says remove the nut so I can replace the o-ring but I dont see how one would be able to remove the nut.

all you have to do is unthread the hard line where it is screwed into the p.s pump. you will see the teflon o-ring on the threaded portion of the p.s line nut, you dont have to remove that from the line, just cut the old 0-ring off with a razor blade and get a new one from napa, its not bad.

UUUGGGHHH I hate having to do anything with the Power steering pump or alternator on this car. Got the hard line finally back on (crowsfeet FTW) and now the supply hose from the tank is leaking power steering fluid at the hose where it goes into the pump. I can feel the back of the hose and feel where the hose has melted because it's so close to the alternator. So now I've got to figure out some way to get either the supply port to turn on the PS or find an extreme right angle prebent SS hose. Both which I think are impossible.

If its the supply line you are talking about, you could get some steel hose and bend it to the angles you need and hose clamp the rubber hose onto it, the supply doesn't have any pressure on it.

Supply line will reach about 1200 psi in it...
