I really hate to write this since I have not driven the LS for an entire week, but I installed a wiring harness on my 2000 LS V-8 this weekend. It started 5 out of 5 times, both when the engine was cold and when it was hot.
I changed everything and the dealership was scratching their heads about what the issue could be. I told them to double check the TSB's and they came up with a Jumper Wiring Harness part 1W4Z-13A612-AA. It goes underneath the steering wheel (lower panel).
For those of you with issues starting where the car cranks over and it will finally go after about 4 tries, consider this wiring harness. I would sometimes run the key back and forth (on/off) because the gf would do this and she said it was working for her. Of course the TSB states that it is typically after a short hot soak and no ignition spark or injector pulse during the condition and will start normally once the ignition key is cycled completely.
Again, this is not fully tested in my case. I had changed almost everything (MAF sensor, IAC valve, crank sensor, cam sensor, cleaned injectors, coils, spark plugs, oxygen sensors, some sensor for the EGR).
Unfortunately I just read a post that someone sold their car because the dealerships couldn't give them an answer.
