Hi everyone,

I justo bought a Lincoln LS 2002 v6, which im in love with. But I recently noticed some issues. The interiors lights (doors, dome) stay on permanent. I close the doors and they stay on. i turn the car on or off and they stay on.

The other thing is that the horn is no longer working and the airgbag lights came out.

please i need help!

Thx

The air bag light and the no horn are most likely the "clockspring" You can also use the "search" function on this site to look your problems up.

Welcome to the forums. Replacing your clock spring will remove the airbag light and restore your horn and other things. Do a quick search on here its easy and you'll find alot

For the lights I would check the light dimmer to the left of the steering wheel and make sure its not turned all the way up. I did that by accident once.

Check the dash panel dimmer thumb wheel. If it is turned all the way up, it turns the interior lights on all the time.

we forgot to mention to check the yellow switch under the driver back seat and make sure it aint broken. i just found out on here that could be another reason the airbag light is on. too bad for me thats not the case and i need to replace the clockspring. :(

It's not a switch, it's a connector.

Count the flashes of the SRS light when you turn the key on. It will flash out a two digit code a few times. (three flashes, pause, six flashes, repeat - would be code 36)

Just a FYI alot of V6 LS's don't have drivers auto seat so the seat does not move all the time like the V8's so the V6 cars really don't break the "yellow" wire that much.

Yes they do. It was part of the convenience package. It's called easy entry/exit and my (daughter's) V6 has it.

Did not know that. Mine and all the ones I have seen don't. To the OP does your car have Auto seat? LS4 what year is your daughters car?

I believe V6 models had every option available.

The just didnt have the message center.

It's my old 2000.

But ALL v8's have auto seat right?? Just wondering.

I believe all the V8s had the convenience package standard. All V6s with the convenience package had/have the easy entry/exit feature; along with memory seats and power lumbar adjustment.

Mine does not have the memory seat either so that must be the package deal. Auto seat w/memory. Mine is a 2000 also. Has alot of options like heated seats and sunroof.

Hey Yasel, I told you they would help you here on LVC!!! Welcome to the forum! These Lincoln LS guys are VERY passionate about their cars! Guaranteed answer RIGHT AWAY! By the way, NICE & VERY CLEAN LS!!!

Guys, Yasel is my neighbor & he did the most beautiful thing a man can do... He went from a Honda to a Lincoln. He's officially crossed over to the DARK side! Great guy, sweet looking car!!!

Alex we should hang out.....lets do a tower shops and tell him to bring his LS and ill bring mines.

I highly doubt he's into this... The man works & his wife just had a baby 10 days ago. Don't really know if he's up to car shows & that sort of stuff. He's a busy man but I'll definitely run it by him!

i have a 2002 v6 and had the prob with the airbag light....had to take seat out and fix connector, its not a hard job to do especially when a mechanic wants to charge way to much to fix such an easy issue. if its the clockspring thats pretty easy to fix as well....good luck

Hey Guys! This Forum is awesome, i got so many replies in less than 24 hours. Here Alex is my neighbor who is introducing me in this Lincoln World.
