Please help!!! Charging system

Yesterday on my friends 2001 v8, I got a check charging system fault follwed by check advancetrac, then the radio shut off followed by the headlights, then finally a complete loss of power. We pushed it back to my place and removed the alternator to have it tested, where it passed 3 consecutive tests. What else could it be??? Anyone have any ideas?? 2001 linclon LS 3.9L V8, 83,000 miles

Mine did this too the day after I bought it. I got the same error messages and the car would not turn over. I checked the car inside and out for something that could be pulling power and never had any luck. After a week it just stopped doing it.

I had the battery and charging system tested and everything was fine. Wish I knew what it was that caused it.

is there any aftermarket sound system or tv's in the car?

We put everything back together and it works fine! the after market amp had come loose and caused a ground in the system!
