What is the best way to remove the pin striping? It's the sticker pin striping and has been on for a while.

My buddy used a lot of elbow grease and goo gone. Took him like two days, probably not the most effective way.

Google has the answers you're looking for. I believe using a heat gun with a plastic putty knife is what I read to do awhile back but I've never tried it so I can't vouch for it one way or the other.

I'd use a heat gun and slowly peal it off... then use some 3m adhesive remover to get rid of whatever gunk is left behind.

Heat gun MAY be too much if you have it turned up to high and get it too close. it WILL bubble paint. But heat and the 3M remover is the way to go.

The stripe removal wheel will grind into fiberglass or old clearcoat. I've used those before in the body shop. It's basically a giant eraser on an angle grinder. Too much friction for Old Mark Viii clearcoat.

Hair dryer is the way to go. Wont get too hot.

Use and eraser disc. You can use it with your cordless drill. Will not hurt the paint in any way. That is the best, easiest, and fastest way to do it, hands down.

GMAN, the eraser disc is what I used and it worked perfect. Couple of pics below show the proof. I used it in a high and low speed cordless drill. You might go through 2 batteries doing the whole car but once you have it off, come back across what you done with an orbital buffer and a light compound just to clean the residue off. Turns out good and I done my whole car in about 45 minutes.

Those look like painted on pin-striping.

no those are vinyl, an eraser wheel won't take off paint. If the stripes are old you'll prob have a hard time with a heat gun cause they will continually break when trying to peal them. An eraser wheel is the only way to go. As long as you don't spin it at an ungodly rpm it won't tear anything up.

use your fingernail, however, the ones are your car look pretty thick, otherwise heat gun is the only way to go

Yes, keep it moving back and forth and don't stay in one spot. I never burned one spot in the paint using the wheel and it doesn't matter if it's painted or stick on, the wheel will remove them. I have used it on a truck too that had them painted on and worked good with that too. It took more time and the painted on type created a lot of dust but it did take them off.

I used the stripe eraser on mine, like the one in the Amazon link above. Just take your time and watch how much pressure you apply. Get some PreCleano to remove the residue then buff it out.

a buffer will take a painted stripe off much quicker and easier than an eraser wheel

just be careful, mine had stick on stripes, and as i removed them i learned that it had painted on ones underneath, at one point that were semi removed than the car was re-cleared or something, cuz on my driver front fender and some of the door i have ghost stripes under the clear coat...
