Just wanted to post a couple of pics of the cruise control recall switch, just so you guys can see where it is.

How cool is that! Thanks for the pics! Looks just like the A/C low pressure switch. I am guessing that they wont have to break the brake lines open, just put a new switch on with a fuse???

So do we just show up at a Lincoln dealer and tell them their supposed to fix it ?

From what I understand, they won't replace the switch unless it's leaking now.

They should replace all the switches since they know that they are prone to failure, not just do some band aid fuse install to prevent the fires.

The switch can still leak in the future with or without a fuse.:(

all they will do is unplug the switch, see if its leaking, if not they leave it unplugged to prevent a fire hazard (also leaving your cruise control useless) I recommend to check the switch yourself if no leaks, plug it back in, and you will get another notice when the kits come out for the fused jumper wire harness, then go in

Yes, that's my point, if the switch is not leaking yet (when you go in to get the fused wire harness) they don't replace the switch that may start leaking brake fluid the next day.

You might not worry about your car bursting into flames then, but what about your brake pedal going to the floor because your brake fluid leaked out? Or at the least, your steering wheel pulls to the left when you brake in an emergency, causing you to swerve into oncoming traffic?

This is not aimed at you Chicken, but at Ford.:)

I just think they should fix it right and replace the faulty switch.

well......how about "making " it leak right before you go to the dealer,
maybe a few good hammer blows or something.or just squirt some brake fluid there,or something,
can a person insist on having there switch replaced because of a recall???

just some ideas
