Pats Led

Red LEDs are typically 1.8V devices. Blue LEDs are typically 3.6V devices (all are over 3V). Some green LEDs are around 2.0V, but the bright ones are typically 3.6V.
This is not to say that it wouldn't work. You would probably just need to replace the current limit resistor with one of a lower value. While the LED is probably a thru-hole device, the current limit resistor is probably SMT, so it will be a little harder for the non-electronics tech to change. There is also the slight possibility that Ford uses a switching drive circuit to reduce battery drain, if so it gets even more difficult, but it would still be possible.

ok ok ill keep it, maybe i can put a colored cover over it lol

The light coming out of the LED is only monochromatic red, so any kind of colored filter will just make it dimmer, it won't be able to change the color. Any colored cover would also mess up the function of the sun-load sensor (makes the AC blow harder because the sun is out) and the auto headlight turn-on.

, i like the red too, i just wanted something different, the bright light blue LED's are nice for alarms

Those are generally for the Viper series alarms. They use a blue LED that can be mounted wherever the user wants. They are very bright indeed.

I like the subtle red though. More stealthy. The blue almost says "HEY LOOK I HAVE A MODDED RIDE" type deal

but but but, i do have a modded ride, lol

Then why not get a "light sensor" assembly (that's what the manual calls the assembly with the red LED in it) form a junk yard and see how hard it is to modify?

ok, im going to add that to my list,

what do you guys think about the yellow fogs? like use like yellow tint paint or something to make them yellow, and when they light up like a bright yellow instead of the factory color?

winshield? you mean above the dashboard towards the back, right below the winshield?

yes...on the dash board at the bottom of the windshield

the only light on the windshield is in the rain sensor

That little black block that has a red light flashing all the time right? I thought that was the alarm light

well now that i know what a pats led is i will post. haha. i replaced mine almost a year ago with a white led. didnt last too long. it worked but went out after about 6 months. replaced it again and now it went out again not to long ago. i like the white but to each there own.

The little dark red dome on the middle of the dash close to the windshield, and yes it serves three things, alarm activated flashing red light, auto on headlights sensor, and climate control sensor.

PATS = Passive Anti-Theft System. The light flashes to let the would be thief know that your car will be a little harder to steal.

It has nothing to do with the [perimeter] alarm system on the LS. The PATS light flashes whether or not the alarm is armed.
