Passenger seat airbag deployed for no reason

Yesterday I was driving on the freeway for about 40min. The speed limit I was going was about 70mph when the passenger seat airbag deployed for no reason and ended up hurting my cousin who was sitting on the seat. What could've made this happen?

Wow that's crazy. Was your car damaged in a flood or something? The SRS system is designed to prevent airbag deployment until everything agrees that you are having an accident. I hope that your cousin is OK.

Looks like I am gonna have to tell my girl to make sure the seat is all the way back.

Maybe PM those other members and see what resolution they got, if any.
