Painted Intake Tube

Duplicolor rattle bomb over a decent primer base. No real need for high temp, you just have to let the paint cure a while before putting it back together.

I think thats a cool idea, cant wait to see it done

Can you even find the k&n typhoon intake anymore?

Does anyone on here have their intakes painted? Pics?

jolinc got his powder coated black as well

I am telling you guys. Proper prep and paint would be fine. My paint guy said it would last. I trust his word 100 percent. But do you what you want. It's your money.

I painted my valve covers and engine cover with hi temp paint and they are all doing just fine for what's it worth.

Done

Came out ok IMO. Ignore the dirty engine bay got lazy after the install. Heatshield is missing the edge trim, so its prob useless lol I'm gonna try some of that Home Depot garage door stuff.

Looks very nice!

That heatshield is pretty useless anyway...The huge hole K&N puts in it for the tube to go thru defeats the whole purpose. If you get some of the Home Depot stuff, try to put some around the inside of that hole

Looks good..... Did you paint it or powdercoat it?

BTW I have a pair two pairs of Gen 1 strut covers. I could seperate them and sell you the two caps for the Gen 2. If your interested?

Thanks guys. I painted it. Almost looks like it was powdercoated, has a nice glossy finish.

I used:
-Hi temp primer
-Paintscratch paint
-Hi temp Clear

I'll update in a month or so to see how its holding up.

EDIT: About the covers, I'll let you know ASAP
