i just finished painting the center console, i havent assembled the car yet but i want some opinions, my first plan was painting it a gloss black, but i wanted to give it a try with the 2nd gen look

should i leave it that way or go back to the original gloss black plan?

It looks good but i personally dont like the gray in my gen II so i have a woodgrain kit on mine.

im not a huge fan of the second gen gray either... but yours is by far the best attempt i've seen yet... maybe with the buttons on it'll look better.... I say try it for awhile and see if YOU like it... If you do go back to black, the finish is far from gloss... i wouldn't go any higher than a satin if your going for oem.... although seeing it in gloss might be interesting...

The result looks good. Try it and see how it looks completely put back together.

i dont want to put it back togheter because i have to use glue with some pins i broke.
maybe ill go with a golden-ish like the towncar door handles, or the satin black.
im waiting for my coils to arrive so my car is just standing there i can try it out

I painted the silver part gloss black on my door panel. I personally don't think it looks as good as the silver. I plan on changing it back in the spring. I think the silver contrasts with the woodgrain very well.

It came out good. I had actually been thinking about having mine on my Gen2 LS done in gloss black. My car is black on black & I thought it would look good if everything that is silver was black. I never got around to doing it, but I'm not very good at those things so I'm probably better off.

I did that to both my Lincolns Looks much better then the black. I posted pictures a while back when i did. About 2-3 yrs ago

so are they just covers o do you have to tape off every button?

Looks very good..

Pretty much all the painted gen1 interiors in here look good - nice work guys!

I don't mind the silver and I actually really like the wood grain in my gen2 (which apparently very few do).

Prefer silver over the gloss black, thats just me though.
