i need help, my 94 mark8 has started running hot enough for message center to notify me, i waited till it cooled off and started it back up, cooling fan was twitching like it wanted to activate but wouldnt, so i replaced it with a known working fan , and it came on, a few days later it did the same thing again!but this time it wont come on at all and the ac wont work even if i by pass the pressure switch, i checked fuses again and relays and im now believing a vlcm is bad. my problem is i dont know how to diagnose it and ive been looking for one and not able to locate a replacement, ive considered using a aftermarket fan control relay, but im just not comfortable with rigging things up, i really want to do it right or not at all...this is my daily driver and i need to get it fixed so i can start on the c/e , but ineed it as dependable as a 17 yo car can be ....and yes ive done a search, im just not finding the info i need,,,:confused:

vcrm? im looking on ebay and im seeing vlcm and i know where it is , where is the vrcm located please......

lazer, you and bad97 know more than i will ever learn about these cars.youre white lsc is what motivated me to buy my c/e , youre opinions and knowledge are priceless to me. thanks

VRCM VLCM
Same smell. Just gotta make sure you get one from the same Gen. Cant use a 96 one on anything other then a 96 and I think the 93 ones are also specific but couldnt say for sure. Jamie would know.

93,4,5 are interchangable, 96 year specific, and 97-98 interchange. vcrm is technically 93-95, vlcm is 96-98. same :q:q:q:q bigger pile. variable control relay module or variable load control module.

I am parting out it's twin. PM me if you want me to pull it. The VCRM is right in front of the radiator, right? First time parting a gen 1....:D

i got the vcrm from micah97m8 saturday, installed it today, and what a life saver, i have my ac and cooling fans working now, now im wondering, does anybody still make this part new? and what willl we do when the supply of good used ones are hard to come by? can the be repaired and if so by who?

That part is not made anymore. It would be a good idea to keep a couple of spares for as long as you have the 94. Gen 1's hit the junkyard down here every week. I don't get them, because I don't need them. If you're coming down, I'll show you where so you can keep a few.
