I use Kinetik Powercells, but I would not be hesitant to try Optima @ all now. Awesome way to do business. Optima has their sh!t together.

So what is the actual part number from optima for the red top that will work in the Gen I V8 LS? My wife can get the red tops cheap through work and I want to order the right one.

We do not offer what we consider a "direct-fit" replacement for your vehicle, so any Optima you use would be considered a "custom fitment" and may require some modifications of your battery tray. The group 78 RedTop pictured above is the only RedTop battery designed with provisions for vent tubes.
