hello guys i have always loved these cars, and recently my own car craped out on me, i am thinking about getting this car wht you all think about it 116 km the guy said he has the vcg repalced already and the front sway bar links, never had an issue with teh coil, he said he rear passenger side regulator went out when he got it but no other electrical issue getting it for 13 000 here are some pics

2 grand? That is a terrible deal, you can do much better if you plan to spend that much. I strongly advise visiting the kelly blue book site to find out the value of the car before you buy it. Just for comparison, i bought my 2000 with 98,000 m and all the options for 7 grand. You should look around more.

That calculates to 72. some odd miles. Blue book that and you get just over 11K$ in excellent condition. The whole question is, is it in that great of condition?

If so and you feel comfortable I would say knock him down to at least that but trying to save some more never hurts.

Yes,.... I would definitely inspect the car allot better. Drive it as much as they will allow you and make sure it don't have any other issues like the coils and such. I would start at 10K then let it go up till you cant take it anymore, but to judge the quality would be all you.

That blue book value does go by the US dollar, another thing to take into consideration.

combo ...

The US$ is weak but ... the CA$ is strong. The two effects have combined and Canadians are crossing the border to shop;). It's "expected" to last 'til some time mid to late '08 (from what I've heard and read).

I wouldn't get an 01. Too many potential problems, especially if has high mileage. I'd go for an 03-04 instead... Better car, with substantial upgrades.

:( Hey now! I have an 01 V8 and it has had 55k FLAWLESS miles! Maybe I am just lucky...or maybe I just jinxed myself...crap!

Actually,.... both!:D
Ah gee thanks for your vote of confidence! If I do have problems soon, I am blaming it solely on you hah! I actually am going to get my tranny checked out and have the dealer replace the solenoids and/or reprogram the PCM...it is shifting very roughly especially when I shift into reverse. Warranty will cover it though.

I purchased one when I bought my car. It was $1500, which matched my down payment, but it is for 3 years so I am happy, it will almost be paid for by getting the tranny done, automatic trannies are frighteningly expensive. I always was so shocked by how expensive it was to work on one/get one rebuilt. That is until I saw how frickin' complicated they are. Holy crap, I read an article on www.howstuffworks.com explaining how they work, and to be honest, I understand quantam mechanics as much as I understood how planetary gears work. I am somewhat technically minded (i.e. I can change my own oil/brakes/alternator in my old Taurus) but that was so far above my comprehension in its complicated workings I felt stupid. Looks like I had better stick to less technical, more word/language-oriented things haha.

KBB is a little low, I'd say a mint LS with those miles could still go for 12-13k.
