I have a 2004 V8 Lincoln LS, I started taking off the plastic covers to replace the 8 spark plugs and coils because of a misfire code on the #2 coil. Upon removing the #2 coil I noticed oil in the plug and coil boot. I'm thinking this is the reason I lost the coil. I know I have to replace the valve cover gaskets but I want to make sure I get the kits with all seals for the plugs and valve cover bolts at a decent price.

Could anyone tell me where I could find valve cover gasket kits with seals @ a decent price?

I suggest Max (look to the right) as a good source for the gaskets.

Your title was misleading. Oil in the plug would indicate a problem with your rings and/or valve seals, a much bigger issue. What you really have is oil on the [outside of] plug.

I got mine from maxx at five star ford, like they said to the right --------->

I have an extra set I can sell ya. I bought two not knowing it comes with both sides already.

You might also check with Lincoln. There was a TSB awhile back where they repaired bad coils and gaskets at no charge. Last I read it applied up to 2003 but I think it was extended to any that had the problem with less than 100,000 miles. Just cost you a phone call.

Good Luck,

Jim Henderson

2003 are covered for coils and gaskets.

2004-2005 are covered for coils (but not if oil has leaked on them) only.
