Did this last year, thought I'd share :D

I used a Canton Racing Products oil filter adapter and Aeroquip -10 AN hose. The Canton adapter has a 1/8" NPT oil pressure port, so a 1/8" NPT to 1/4" NPT adapter was required to install the stock oil pressure sender. It also comes with an AN-16 water outlet, which I changed to a Meziere AN-16 ORB 1 1/4" hose adapter. Longer bolts were needed to attach the adapter as it's 25mm thick as opposed to the stock adapter which is 13mm thick. I used ARP 8mm x 1.25 stainless bolts that are 50mm UHL.

I fabricated a stainless steel mount for the oil filter bracket which mounts to two of the oil pan bolts. I had to relocate the ground cable stud to the upper engine mount hole to make room for the hoses.

Then I used silicone hose and a coupler, purchased from Pegasus Auto Racing Supplies (a 1 1/4" elbow and a 1 1/2" to 1 1/4" reducing elbow) to plumb the water outlet to the thermostat housing.

I doubt that this will work with the stock exhaust manifold and cat, but it clears fine with my SS Kooks headers and SS Flaming River steering joint.

did you have to use the flaming river ujoint?

Yes, there was no way the stock rag joint would fit with the Kooks, and then when I added the filter bracket and hoses, there was even less clearance.

Great write up and pics!! Are you seeing any indications of road debris hitting the filter, as it appears it is on the low side?

None at all, it's above the bottom of, and somewhat protected by, the K-Member. I suppose if I drove on gravel roads all the time it could be a problem, but here in civilization, it's not a issue. :)

Well worth it. Those second pics look a lot better, probably camera angle on the first set.

If someone was worried about it, you could always bolt a small aluminum "skid plate" to the bottom edge of the K-Member. I thought about it, but haven't yet seen the need.

What brand of trans pan? Did you need a filter extention or different filter? Or does the stock filter still work with the added depth?

that would be extremely handy. and a wee bit cheaper than your lift lol. does this effect anything performance-wise?

No, it's just moves the filter. I am able to half fill the filter when I replace it, which cuts down on the low oil pressure at first startup.

huh. mite have to look into getting a set up like that. where does the large hose go? all the kits ive seen just have the 2 smaller hoses.

like this....

alot of them have dual filters but i dont see the need for that other than to impress honda drivers lmao

The large hose is for coolant and may be kit particular. I bet most use the stock hose because they do not replace the entire adapter plate, they thread onto the oil filter location. The one above replaces the entire plate.

i know. yours looks really good. i especially like where you mounted it with that bracket. but i dont have the know how. there are too many words in your write up that i didn't even recognize lol. i'm too unlucky to try piecing together something like that.

ha thats a little more than a short trip. i would love to take a road trip up there and meet the man sometime but i dont see it happening

Sorry to hear about your mom being sick man, thats never a good thing. Send me a PM if you can when you get back, I'm in dire need of those HID adapters man. thanks
