bout to get some limited 105 wheels with nitto nt555 tires for 700. the pattern is 5x108 but the offset is 34mm. i dont want to drop my car now or in the future.
imma big guy 6'2" 270 lbs and sometimes have 2 people with me in the car. will it rub????

thanx in advance!

Offset refers to the distance between the rotors and spokes of your wheel. The stock 17" wheels have a 60mm offset, but I believe you can get away with 45, but what you're looking at might not fit without spacers. The rubbing is going to be more a function of the tire size than the wheel size.

This is a decent calculator http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp

I have after market wheels on my 03 LS with 40mm offset and they seem to be ok. I would not go any less than that. I think 45mm would be ideal.

do this....

the stock is a 60mm offset, you are looking at 34mm

measure out from your outer tire edge 26mm and the use a straight edge and hold it straight up and down from that point - that will be where the new edge will be. If it will still tuck inside the wheel well lip you may be ok....

Not quite. Offset is how far the mating surface of the wheel is from the vertical centerline of the wheel. The spokes don't really enter into it (and neither do the rotors).
