Officially part of the family now...

I did hear something about a fight between you and I for a working driver's side seat track, but besides that, no :P.
What kind of fight??
Knives, guns.....:D
does this mean i will finally get to meet brandon in person so i can slap the little bastard in the mouth for fun?
This I would pay to see.
You have to have Sex with Kustomizingkid ...
Don't say like that. You scare me sometimes. :p
No one made Hanky aware of the initiation rituals?

Oh, this ought to be interesting.
Very interesting.
He does look good in plaid.

Thanks for the pics, Alex! I don't suppose you have any more? Looks like it blends damn well in the back. The trim paint looks darker in the front in the pics I have... just curious how bad the overall paint fade is. Brandon thinks the whole thing will need a repaint to look good but I'm hoping that's not the case.

My opinion? Listen, I'm about to spend $900.00 on painting my 97. That car you are buying does NOT need immedeate paint. The current paint is very nice & glossy. Yes it has fade & you can notice it more on the front grille but just like any other red Florida car this is the norm. The sun can really do a number on these cars but if I was the one purchasing this car, my priority would be the driver's side door, tinted windows & buff the car every other month. As long as you wax it every so often the paint will match better. For some reason the back is not as faded & it does match better. Remember, it's 13 year old original paint vs new paint out of the can. I wish my 97's paint would've been in the condition this car is in!

You don't listen very well...

I said if it were ME I would get the entire car resprayed all at once so that the trim and everything on the car matched perfectly instead of try to blend stuff... I would also put LSC moldings on it...

Alex, thanks for the insight. I'm not worried about it being awful and I definitely don't expect perfection... I just want to get as many opinions as possible because as of right now I own a car I've not seen in person and I'm curious, haha.

Brandon, you know I agreed to the LSC moldings... you told me the car would need a full repaint to match well and I'm not saying that isn't true. I'm just trying to get a feel for what kind of shape the paint is actually in. Chill.

Darren, I will take pics of anything you want. I just don't know how to post them. I will send them to your phone. No problem!

A closeup of the front grille and bumper would be nice since that area seems to have the worst of the fading. At this point I'm pretty convinced the only reason any painting would need to be done in the forseeable future is if there's no way to get that black door home besides mounted on the car... I'm okay with some fade and some dents, but I've got to leave the mismatched body panel look to the people who drive Hondas :D.

Also, I've been meaning to ask. Is the seat track straight up broken, or can you get it to move if you help it along by hand?

I drove up to Helena last week to pick up the replacement door for my '96.
It will fit in the trunk, front in first, inside up and wrapped with a blanket. If you position it just right so that the trunk hinges just clear it, the trunk can be tied down at a sufficient height that you probably won't get pulled over.
At least, not in Montana. :D

I don't think getting pulled over would be the problem. I would think that over the long haul home fumes would get into the trunk and into the passengers quarters. Not good. However, I will do whatever Brandon wants.

Ya gotta go fast enough to stay ahead of the fumes.

Seriously, that's a good point. I only had an hour's drive.

Yeah... Brandon dying of CO poisoning is not exactly part of the plan... if the trunk doesn't close, IMO it doesn't fit...

Well I was planning on just tying the trunk down if it fits in almost... CO poisoning is my biggest concern, I roll with the windows down.

Darren you need to chill the :q:q:q:q out. :P
