Saw a video on Youtube about this $500 eprom programmer that is sold for "odometer correction" which seems fishy. It supposedly can also reprogram your speedo for the installation of larger wheels, which I guess is a legit usage.
Guy just hooked it up, punched in what he wanted the mileage to be, and WHAM the "new" mileage showed up on the odometer.
This has me worried that every used car dealer is gonna have this trick up his sleeve. In TX, odometers are "exempt" after 7 years so I'm not sure they can even get in trouble for it on a car older than 7 years (Like an 00', 01', or '02 LS).
Any thoughts? Anyone ever used something like this after they added bigger wheels?
