odd shifting

so im flying down the on ramp 45-50mph and I punch it to down shift to get infront of traffic, it shifted but hesitated, like it forgot to what it was doing for a half second. this happened twice. couldn't get it to do it again any where else

what year? Mine does that - :q:q:q:qing :q:q:q:qty 97 trans its like it goes to shift, then stops for coffee

If it was in 4th and you nailed it then thats bad and thats why. A 4-2 kickdown is one of the worst things for our transmissions and if you do it a lot then eventually you will hurt it. I always turn off overdrive if I know its gonna kick down to second. Hell, in my tune if I am going above 60 it wont kick to second just so I wont kill it if I forget and nail it. But with my blower and gears I can get away with that.
