I replaced my VCG, spark plugs and coils on Friday. I had to disconnect the fuel injector sensors as well to have enough room to torque the bolts. She's running great now. Better then she has in a very long time! I never had any error codes before the tune up just some shaking and occasional knocking. So I take it in yesterday morning to get my state inspection done. It fails due to two 'Not Ready Codes'. The guy tells me that the car may give these type of codes when the battery has been disconnect or other vital plugs/sensors. He then suggests that I drive it around for a while (50 to 100 miles) and then try it again. I drive it around and put over 100 miles on it and take it back in this morning. It fails again for the same two 'Not Ready Codes'! He tells me it may take some more driving...

Has anybody experienced this when any of there vehicles? I disconnected the battery after the last attempted just so the computer could reset itself.

Well, if you keep disconnecting the battery, then you will never have all of the monitors complete. Some of the monitors require some particular driving circumstances. For example, the evap monitor may not complete unless you drive around with 3/4 tank of fuel in moderate temperatures.

I've had this problem before. It takes the ls about three days of driving for enough monitors to run to pass inspection. I drove in varing conditions each day, hwy, city, 3/4 throttle a few times to hwy speed and coasting from 55 plus to less then 35. The car must sit for at least 8 hours each night too.
