So I went to Boston for St. Patty's day - about a 6 hour drive - and although the rain kinda sucked it was well worth it. Anyway, I just got home and figured I'd seek some advice - the beer helped me ignore my issue over the weekend :D...While i was cruising along between about 55-70, it felt like the tranny was slipping and the car seemed very sluggish. If i gave it gas to pass someone or go up a hill (but not flooring it) it seemed to hesitate and buck a little-almost like it wasn't sure what gear to be in. When I'm driving around town or on the highway in D4, it feels fine. In fact, when i was 80mph+, it seemed to run better and didn't seem to hesitate or anything when i accelerated. It only seemed to happen from about 55-70 - even the passengers in my car who know nothing about cars could feel it "missing."

I know these cars aren't the smoothest shifters, but there is definitely something different/wrong. When I would floor it to prevent it from "bucking" it had plenty of power and would shift fine. It also seemed to shift ok when manually shifting it myself although I have never been a huge fan of the shifting of these cars.

I am assuming/hoping it's coils, but I have no SES lights and I have a feeling if I take it to a dealer they'll probably tell me to wait until the light comes on. I've actually had the tranny rebuilt about a year ago by the dealer so I hope it isn't that again - it's an 03 V8..Any input is appreciated.

I'll put my money on coils not bad enough to trip a CEL quite yet. Been there a few times myself.

If your car is under 100k miles, bring it to the dealer and have them fix it for free.

Yup sounds like coils. I just did plugs and coils, and had forgotten how nice it is to actually accelerate when you mash on the pedal while cruising.

im goin through the exact same :q:q:q:q lol i ordered some coils an i will change my plugs as well
