Sick car. Love it. Wouldn't pay that much for it though. If I was to spend that much cash I'd spend it on a '69 Camaro or Chevelle. It's just a matter of taste.
The torino from the e-bay auction was a 1974-1976 torino. The Torino from the movie Gran torino that Clint Eastwood starred in was a 1972 Gran Torino Sport with a q code 351c 4v cobra jet motor. The term "Gran Torino" wasn't used by ford until 1972 when the Gran Torino and gran Torino Sport models came out. Most people call all pre 1972 torino's "GRAN" torino's for this reason. I used to always drive my 71 torino and people would always call it a Gran torino and I would have to Correct them, its a 1971 Torino 500. Great car, just pretty heavy like our marks. if you ask most people that are Torino enthusiasts like the people on Torinocobra.com most will agree and say the 70-71 was the best looking torino. although a lot of others would argue the 1972 from the clint eastwood type body style is the best. I can honestly tell you out of all the torino's ive looked at ( a bunch lol) that if you get a chance to buy a 72-73 q code fastback , do it! they are awesome and ive always wanted one since I got my 71. ive missed a chance to own a q code about 3-4 times atleast. ah well....
Lol not even CLOSE to 30, yeah the 68-69 torino is a cool body style, the day my oil filter adapter gasket died i had to leave my mark parked by his 69 fairlane overnight, its the same body style, looks pretty sweet but needs ALOT of body work
