non heated to heated seat is it possible?

Lol well Im sorry i hate reading dumb threads, but i have a question i can never seem to find a straight answer to. I have a 00 ls and i have non heated seats could i add heated seats and if so what all would i need?

Im tired of freezing my ass off please help

I want to do the same thing. I think the best way to do is to find Factory Heated seats, buy the console piece with the heated seats button, swap them in, and you got it as if it came from the factory.

i want to take it a step further and swap in the AC unit and seats from an 03+ that has the cool seats option as well. I just don't know if the DATC wire harnesses are the same between the 1st gen and 2nd gen.

Indiana...and yes you can convert to heatred seats. You just buy an aftermarket heating element.

ok so if i have the factory heated seats and the dash heat switch what else do i need to make this happen

shouldnt the element be inside the seats already?

i would buy aftermarket seat heaters, the biggest problem with the 1st gen heated seats is that there is no temp control, they just go super nova and then shut off after ten mins, with aftermarket heaters that you put in, most of them have a temp seting so you can turn them on WARM and they can stay on the whole time that you are driving, like a 2nd gen.


BTW -if you dont have heated seats now, the elements WILL NOT be in the seats that you already have, you would need to buy the whole seat W/heaters the switches and probally the harness to connect them. this sounds way more expensive and alot harder to do than just taking the seats that you already have and putting heaters in them
