Welp, took the LS on a road trip from NJ to good ol' Mississippi to visit my parents, and boy was the drive enjoyable. Interstate 66 and 81 are some fun roads with that 70mph speed limit through the mountains. 70mph still wasn't enough though since it was an 18hr ride each way. The truckers hated me for my glaring hids, and I hated them for taking up both of the only two usable lanes on every interstate driving at the same speed.

Anyway, I just wanted to throw a nod to my favorite car... and only car, the LS specifically for giving me a smooth ride, not breaking down, and its awesome handling on the curvy roads. I was getting 23-24mpg and only spent $110 on gas(93 octane) on the 1100 mile drive there.

I was surprised to see how many LS's were in Mississippi, uncommon cars in my area. BTW, this was Senatobia, MS which is right below Memphis.

While in MS, I drove then raced against my mom's 1993 40th anniversary edition Corvette with its 5.7 LT1. My dad was driving it when I raced it and we got clocked by a cop we couldn't see doing 125mph down the highway. Luckily, we got out of trouble. The cop said he couldn't catch the vette if he wanted to while I was fish food. So of course the vette ripped my little V6 by 5 car lengths. It was a good time though. Another cop told me he knew who I was because my LS was the 1 of a million down there with the angel eyes when he saw me speeding down the back roads. And by back roads of Mississippi, you know what kinds of stretches I'm talking about.

Too lazy to edit plates......

Cool stuff.

Those old vettes arent really that fast anymore but they are stable at a high speed. Im sure a new camaro ss is quicker (but also much more expensive).

Yeah, I think that one is only packing about 325hp with some headers and a k&n air filter as of now. I know more is gonna get done to it, but it's my mom's, so she's just tailing it around their small town. My dads picking up an LS1 Camaro soon as one of his "toys". Next time I go down there I'll probably be picking up a new car since he gets them dirt cheap.

1100 miles on $110. Dam!

Nice photos, the eyes look so sexy @ dusk!

all that highway driving and you could only get 24mpgs out of your V6? I would figure it would be much better than the V8. I drove up to NH last month and got about 25-26mpg, and my engine is an old V8 ('01) with 170K miles on it, that is due for a coil change ASAP.

BTW I love the placement of your angels, looks great seeing the entire bottom half of the circles.

Yeah, I was definitely expecting to spend at least $150 each way, so I'm happy about that.

Yes, of course angels are a must a dusk even though they're on all day.

Holy poop. I can't believe the 8's get the same and sometimes better mileage! I'm overdue for an oil change though and I've had the crappy ebay coils in for a while, well can't call them crappy since they're lasting. I think my car lost some power by using them.

I also wish I could of planned this to be farther in the year, so I could have drove 2 states up and met everyone at the National Meet.

That's why the V6 isn't really a bargain. My old V6 got ~1mpg better than our V8s.

so you are coming to the st louis meet meet right, you seem to be okay with long hauls
