newb intro/questions

Hey y'all,
just picked up a 95 base with some bs ft Lauderdale package (white vinyl top, white leather seats with red piping, and extra wood trim). She sat since 07 until last Saturday and has just 105k on her and barely shows it. After a week of maintenance i brought her to the track and despite traction issues on the 225 tires managed 2.3 60ft and 15.203 1/4 mile time, not great but I'm happy with that for my first time racing a mark. Any who first things first for her i want to do some sort of posi and regear. I know its 28 spline but is there anything else i need to worry about with the irs? First car ive had with it. And how.can i correct the Spedo? And whos the best with tuning these cars. Asides from gears and posi im just looking to chip, intake and do a cat back for now with whipple plans.

And also on the IRS posi, it needs to be for a IRS 28 spline. I have an extra one also, and to do gears nothing less than 4.10's these cars do great with them.
 
I figured after a week of driving and the maintenance i did with out a hiccup she would do fine, and that's just what she did. I'll get some pictures tomorrow then try to figure how to load them from my phone.
 
Get a photobucket app, then load your pics to that account. Use the IMG code and paste
 
Changing gears in an IRS is no different than a solid axle, you just get the speedo gear to match what you change to. If you go (numerically) higher than a 4.10, you need a Speedcal device.

Htrlman1 is correct about the Trak-loc. It needs to be a 28 spline on the axle gears or your axles won't fit.
 
Sorry for the delay... School full time, husband duties, and working left little time.. She's finally cleaned and I'll post pics in the morning.
