I've been toyin with the idea of powder coating my stock wheels black, any comments? I have a place here in town that will bead blast and powder'em for 35.00 a wheel. Also if anyone could photoshop black wheels onto my sig pic it would be awesome to see it.

That was what I said about if I didn't like it. :shifty: and hey what's wrong with "that color" ? I have the fastest pink car in my neighborhood. [the mary kay cadillac didn't stand a chance and that old ladies reaction time sucked]

I charge $55.each, Hell it costs me $25. a rim at my blaster!

With your color I'd go with gun metal or smoke chrome.

like these. and those were in ruff shape.

Thanks for the info merijon. And yeah smoke chrome sounds cool what does that look like exactly does that color look like?

I'm thinkin the chrome would look cool. Like some of the cup cars have. I've thought of going black over my silver wheels but I cann't see it. It would need at least a chrome or polished lip.IMO That price is good though. What wheels do you have?

I think they are called octastars, their the ones in my sig. And I like that chrome smoke.

OOO stupid me I should have seen. Those are the ten spokes same as I have. The ten spokes really have no lip unlike most other wheels. When a rear break pad went metal to matal it burnt one wheel. Thats why I start thinking About this. If the ten spokes had at least alittle lip I would have done something like mentioned above. IMO the snowflakes would look good with the center black and the lip chrome or silver.

That smoked chrome does look good.

I'd like know whos idea it was not have wear indicates on the mark brakes?? My powerstoke had them LIKE you could even hear them.WTF

I have a set of 10 spokes to eventually get powdercoated black. I say go for it so I know what its going to look like lol.

I'd say spray paint them first too to get an idea.
They will need to media blast them anyways if they powder coat them, so it's only a couple bucks for a can of paint to test it...

I'd use some of that Car Art paint that washes off with soap and water, in case you don't like the look.

If their chrome they don't need to be blasted, just cleaned!

10 spoke black? I wouldn't. I have seen snowflakes painted black with the lip left untouched and they looked pretty good.

Frogs car looks damn good with his black rims but I know he don't have either one of the rims and also, his car is black. The color you have, idk how black would look but everyone has their likes and dislikes.

I have had people tell me I should paint my Octi's black and leave the chrome lip. HELL NO! I like them just how they are.
