I am.looking at a Lincoln LS 2002 130K MILES ITS 4500 loaded sunroof leather etc v8 and I wanted to.know.is there anyone local.who.knows more.about them.that can check car out for me.? I'm.into makingem.look.good not really good with mechanics? And motor fixing or if anybody can.shoot me advice.or.things to.look for really want this car but not.if it's going to be a headache and are these cars as expensive to maintenance as people way?

Yes they are as expensive to maintain as people say. It's built based off a jaguar so the parts are expensive.... And a lot of people have had a lot of headaches over these cars an there problems.

I your really not mechanically inclined at all I would say either buy a 03+ or don't get one at all. Your going to run into issues no doubt, and if you have to pay the dealer to do the work for you (if you don't know how) it's goin to cost you a fortune.

Me too!

They're not too bad to maintain really and once most the stuff is fixed you can plenty more mileage out of one.

With 03 from the factory you could get xenon headlamps and backup sensors. Those two enough make it worthwhile.

Same deal, do your research and you'll learn quickly. Bought an '05 sport because it had the better engine / transmission setup. Pretty much all of these cars were loaded which is just more stuff to break. Pick and chose because there are tons of cars for sale now.

I would not buy an '02 or older first gen.

They're beautiful cars, I love my first gen. but starting with 130k miles, be prepared to put some money into it. Parts aren't cheap is neither is labor. I'm not mechanically inclined either and that alone costs as much (if not more) than the parts you're getting installed. Only buy it if you can truly afford it.

That's good advice from Dunn! He has been the poster child for first time gen1 owner issues.
