well it was about time i got around to buying a new cheap system...i was browsing around yesterday and got a good deal from my dudes at the flea market {50$} i couldnt pass it up...

still had my amps so no problemo hooking the subs up...the quality and clarity is great. in about a month or 2 i will knock off 4 more with a custom enclosure and beat the block down. and i already know my battery is bs, i am working on getting a kinetic battery {it never goes dead} 120$ hope to get it soon to throw that garbage of a battery i have away.

well enjoy and tell me what you think about 6 12"s in an ls, im pretty sure you guys are'nt feeling it...lol
 
6 12's are cool but not those 12's. What amp are you gonna use to power them? And what about your interior speakers?
 
i have a 3000 watt gothic series power acoustic, also i have a 2000 merlin...but the merlin is in my delta, the delta has 2 q power 15"s
 
Are you on a budget for this system? If not there is some real nice sit out there. I saw some good prices today.
 
my cousin has 3 12 comps and they beat pretty good. 6 i think might be a little excessive just do to the fact that subs need their own specific space to function at their best and with 6 of them it might be difficult to do it. I'm sure it can be done but it would take a lot of fabricating and time plus money. there are other subs out there that can beat just as hard as 6 12's, well maybe 4
 
in my pockets there is no budget, but i dont buy things when i know i can get it for the cheaper price, im not really looking to spend a lot. but what have you seen?...and why not comps?


edit: wow those prices are rediculous! 239.99$ for 15" cvx...my spot is 149$ brand new with lifetime warranty...lol
 
Thats a very sloppy sub. Those comps are garbage, Those are like begginers. Even with 6 of those you are gonna want more bass.
If you wanna knock louder than anyone else just go buy 2 JL 13w7's. But those subs aren't real crisp. You can go with 3 JL 10 w7's that would still be louder than those 6 comps. Go with 2 Alpine Type X 12's. But one thing you will need to do is get better amps also. Those amps can't handle the needs of the subs i mentioned to run them efficiently. And just cause its expensive doesn't mean its better also. I have over 14 years experience in car audio so you can ask me pretty much what ever you want.
 
yeah i already know that they are garbage, i just wanted to run the 2 for the time being, and maybe get 4 more. but now i have change of hearts i would rather get the cvr's...i still want 6 12"s though, and i am not about to buy those 200-300$ subwoofers lol. besides im still trying to get my cashflow right for my:
*catalytic converters
*egr valve
*rims
*paint job
 
Well save your money and don't buy those comps any more or cvr's what ever they are called now. you can run That alpine type x and it will outperform those cvr's by itself.
 
how are you "trying to get your cashflow right" when you had said in a earlier post that your pockets have no budget? which is it? and if you had mad money like your making it seem then you wouldn't care about which costs more and what not, just my .02 of course. not trying to offend but it seems when members tell you about something that is good, whether it be subs, wheels, or something else you are always wanting to get things on the cheap, but in reality the "cheap" is usually cheap for a reason
 
what im trying to say is i have money...i can buy all those things that i want right now, but being able to buy it isn't always it, its the wether or not i can afford it. meaning will i have enough money to do what i have to do later on, tomorrow, next week, maybe even next month?...i can spend every dime i have and get every thing i want but i have more responsibilities and priorities than just my ls. im 17 with 2 cars, car insurance, gas money, mechanical problems, food, and other things eat my pockets alive. i dont sell drugs i work hard and save my money, and i dont splurg until its all gone, i have a little more sense than that.

and yes i understand what you're saying, "you get what you pay for"...
 
So then you don't have the money. Every body has those problems, Mortgages, insurance food and all the other goodies. Save your money and buy all the stuff you want once. Don't go cheap just to have it and then replace it in a year with what you really wanted. Do your homework on the items you want. Whatever it is from tires and rims to stereo's and and subs. Don't just buy it because it is cheap, it is cheap for a reason. I gotta find the pics of those cvr's that this kid had. He had 6 10's and told me they could handle my amps, well we put his subs in my truck and needless to say I saw for the first time a part of the magnent come through the cone of the sub. Usually the just freeze up or the cones rip, but the magnent actually came through the cone. By the way I knew his subs couldn't handle the amp, Lesson learned the hard way.
 
understood and i will see about these alpine & jl subs, im pretty sure my people have them for wayy less than the prices you guys are used to...
 
same with me...I make $3,200/month but :q:q:q:qz keeps coming up like car
note($380/month), Insurance($350/Month), Rent($500/month), Gas for
work($400/month), 2 cellphones($130/month), food($500/month), and Misc. like
toilet papers and baby diapers for 2 babies($200/month)......
 
Holy :q:q:q:q cobra my morgagte cost more than all your bills together, I gotta move to Tx. And there's no state tax there either right? One cell phone $330 a month, Gas for the month $500, Knowing your doing it in an LS pricelsess lol.

500 for rent? i pay 950 for a s***y 1 bedroom. rent in santa monica is about 1600+ for a 1 bedroom. i consider myself lucky but now i'm considering moving to texas ;)
 
state tax is 8.25% and $400 is on a 50 miles a day trip to work and back
(6 Days) and must I say my weekend (which is only saturday) puts out about 30
miles, so that's 330 miles for $100 and to be honest I punch it everyday and
everytime i stop at a light (if there's no cops around)...also super unleaded right now at shell is like $3.95/gallon......
 
I agree the CVR's are garbage, more beginner stuff. I went with 1, 12" Kicker Solo-X RMS 2500 Watt's Peak 5,000. I can out beat any 2, 15" sub's easy. All depends on your AMP too, and i also have a 15 ferheit Cap with a extra 680 amp drycell battery. I went with the 1, 12" so i can have some trunk room and my system is probably the strongest in my county, You can hear the bass travel from well over 2 miles away.
 
Um Chris come on now, Those subs are not that good. 2 miles away, what is the spl in that car? Ever have the Db's measured? Chris don't go around saying that your car is one of the loudest in the country, that is way overstating things. You are talking about a plain jane everyday setup. When you start needing extra altenators and you need 4 of those batteries in your car give me a call. And by the way using a cap is like putting a band aid on something that needs stitches. Go to a competition and the will laugh at that setup unless it is for begginers.
 
I just don't understand the need for 6 woofers, when you can make 2 good woofers just as loud with the correct enclosure. Hell, I know a guy that hit like 148dB with a single Brahma 10" in a Protege'. It is all about the enclosure and how much space you are willing to give up. It is obvious that you are willign to give up all of your trunk for 6 woofers, why not make the proper ported enclosure for like 2 really good woofers such at the DDaudio listed above:

thats because adire audio brahma's are real subwoofers, and kicker comps are bastard orphan step children. but 6 of anything can be loud if done right.

Only way to do 6 12's in an LS = wall with a bandpass box using your entire car essentially as the box.

do a search on realmofexcursion.com for IF subwoofers, there built by the same guys who did RE, only there more custom built to your specs, and outpreform most RE's
