New Mod Idea

clips? no theyre not clips, theyre little studs that just fit into the holes in the door, just for a guide for the tape to bond better.

and the indent is very minor, can either be pulled out and add a small amount of fiberglass bondo:D

GDP always explains alot! I love my baby momma, and my grand daddy:rolleyes:

I wouldn't use fiberglass. It will not bond to the metal. Not without the current bonding agent/poxy. Even with the right bonding agent/poxy. Cracking will happen. Everytime you shut your door. The vibration/shock on the metal will fatigue the fiberglass and its bond to the metal.

Bondo will shrink or exband. With you living in the northeast. You will have issues with the cold winters causing the metal to shrink. The hot humid summers, the metal will exband.

You have to ask yourself. Do you have the time and money to keep going back and redoing it?

I personally like the door strips, but some of the pics do not look too bad without them.

So LJ, you are looking to repaint your car?

SOB, Pec !! You take off the side strips, and it makes the car look just like an Aston Martin!!!
KS:D :D :D

I think it looks pretty nice without it. It kinda gives it a more "big body" type of look...I'm doing a paint job on my ls this summer & Im thinking I might try this out.

thanks for the advice rollinls, the place where the strip fits dips in only about 2 centimeters... with the holes already provided i would just pull out the metal as much as i could, and then start bondoing and sanding. i have used fiberglass bondo a few times with no problems. i agree the changing temps can really have an affect, but i think its only if alot of bondo is used in one spot. this wouldnt be more then 2 cm. in depth.

i personally like the big body look as well, the ls just looks like a beast with out the strips. not to mention smoother sides = better air dynamics, so maybe even a hp+ gain. lol (jk)

to answer the other question, that bud right there went into a bowl..i smoked a couple gram blunts of that, but it just goes to quick that way . that gdp is beautiful stuff.

pektel you would want charcoal metallic, thats a big difference from your light colored LS.. i think a light colored LS is great, and so is a dark colored one, thats why im not sure what color, too many factors, especially when it comes down to detailing it.
