Hey, Just starting. I've got a 2000 Ls V6 black/ tan. Just wanna get some veteran advice about my car. Ive had the car for a year (bought it from my pops) and only recently getting problems ( the "transmission problem" where the car is kinda jumpy and slips up around 40-50 mph) I'm just in a little bit of a tough spot because I own a 2000 bmw 323 ci with a M3 body kit as well and it is tempting to keep the Bmw and sell the Ls. I really like the Ls and I want to keep it, but I dont wanna hold onto it unless I can get some good advice on revamping my engine and transmission so that I can hold onto the car for atleast a couple years. Oh yeah, and im very interested in body kits, spoilers, rims, and dropping the car. Well like I said , im a new member and just would like any helpful advice , but mostly my biggest concern is keeping the car in excellent operating condition. Right now I have about 75,000 miles and I want to fix my "trans" problem and fix anyrhing else that might come up soon in the engine, trans, or exhaust. Like i said i live in Ny so if anybody knows a viable mechanic around here that is very good with the Ls I would appreciate the tip. Well thanks in advance. I had a hesitation problem with my 2000 v8 at the same speed. Turned out my ECU was going bad. Warranty to fix.

Ground effects choices. Many members go with the LSE kit. I went with the Razzi kit. I did lower my LS with Eibach Springs pro-kit. Once the car settle. I had a 1.75" drop.

Your "trans" problem could very well turn out to be a failing ignition coil, possibly from the valve cover gaskets leaking. If you haven't had those looked into yet it may be a good idea.

I'm actually in Rockland County, Blauvelt to be exact, small world . I have a 02 LS v8 and just within the past week I've been noticing the transmission slipping around 60,. If it continues to do it this week I will make an appt at the dealer...I have an extended FORD warranty so I have not taken my car to a regular mechanic/
in your position I would really look at all the info and people's problems with the 00 on here and decide if your able and ready to deal with all the problems that are common with the car.

When I take it to the dealer I'll let you know what the problem turns out to be..
ohh the dealer is Shultz on 304 in Nanuet, I have been treated pretty well by them. anyway good luck, and I'll prob see u around town.

Yea definitally struggling with this problem. The car has been in good condition for the year that I've had it, but now it just is starting to have the jerky gear shifts and the amber emissions light on the dash going off. I've heard alot of talk about valve cover gaskets , ignition coils, and oil leaks. Does anybody who's already adressed this problem have any possible solutions?
