I just picked up my first Lincoln Mark VIII!

I've always liked the Mark VIII look and love my '96 Cougar, so I started looking.

I finally found a '97 with 31,000 original miles that I just snagged for a song.

I've been reading up on them, but was hoping some more avid Mark owners could give me some pointers on preventative maintenance and good performance upgrades.

Any information or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

check the following asap
- a/c vent under crawl hood(black plastic)
- heater working correctly
- air ride ( factory) or does it have coils?
- blend motor( heat mech)

Welcome and congrats! That thing is a baby! Any pics to share with us?

But everything 94BLU8 said plus check all the front end bushings... ALL OF THEM. I know the car is low miles but its old so they could be rotted out.

Yeah but it was raining pretty hard here the last two days and I had no leaks at all. Think I just had a cloged drain.

Wow thats super low miles!
Use the search and you will have hours of reading.

Try Ebay for a Service Manual and the Electrical and Vacuum Troubleshooting Manual. Mine are for a 94 and like new. Also our vendor, LincolnMotorSport can get you started with performance upgrades. Welcome and good luck.

31,000 miles??? That, my friend, is a FIND-you will be the envy of all on here, for years to come-if mine were that low, I think I'd drive it in parades and nice days...Nah

Congrats, pics are mandatory...:D

To tide you over...

Here a couple pics. More to follow when she gets detailed.
