new looking front shocks from Arnott..?

I've been reading on the other thread in this form about changing out just the shocks, is there a replacement other than the Koni mentioned on the other thread, and is there a write up on how to do this.

afaik, the only shock that fit is discontinued and DLF purchased the last set for sale anywhere.

I don't know guys, theres no doubt in my mind that the OEM's are the best there is as far as longevity and all goes. I sell both and half to tell you, I have the Arnott AIR STRUTS & AIR SPRINGS on my car right now and have to admit they seemed a little stiff....but the car had been lowered a bit. I then adjusted the ride height front & back to where it should be. After that, I can't imagine the ride being any better. Keep in mind that the air spring was designed to be at a certain ride height for the designed spring rate. If that height is too low or too high, you won't have the best ride. Who knows, maybe the aftermarket is made a little different and more "picky" than the OEM.

As far as the ride quality being more for comfort instead of handling, if you were in charge of that.....what would you do? You CAN'T make everyone happy. Most people would probably want comfort.....while "some" want more performance. Business-wise, you try to make the most people happy as you can.

With these cars getting older & older, be thankful we have another option besides the OEM. Theres nothing etched in stone saying we will have the aftermarkets as an option forever.

very true EDDIE getting hard to find M8's in local junk yards if the price goes much higher for scrap those will be gone too.
