NEW LINCOLN LS OWNER WITH A FEW Q's

do you get the smell whenever the vents are "blowing"... could be you need to replace the cabin air filter... more info somewhere around here...
Coils Can be common, good rule of thumb is to replace them all when you first do it... otherwise it'll feel like your always in there...
As for the HID kit... Id imagine by now (it is 2012) that most drivers are use to the "brighter" (although not true) looking headlight... projector or not, i doubt its really a problem any more..
Tons of info on this site, Welcome. My advice is A.) dont be a d!ck B.) spent the next month reading every thread you can. C.) if your not sure, search around (w/ google) not the search link up top), then click the show more from lincolnvscadillac.com link.... This car will mostlikely (I hope not though) be expensive to upkeep if you dont learn to do as many repairs as you can... Dealers get pricey ....

Enjoy the new car...

yes i usually get the smell when the heat is on. As for the HIDS i was going to get 10K low beams. white with the bluish tint

10 k will be very blue. 6 k sounds more of what your looking for.... Imo. It starts to look too rice if you get to blue ... The kalvin rating has nothing to do with bulb brightness... High does not mean brighter... Most run 6 to 8.... Google. You'll see what I mean.

V6 smell. Inspect passenger side exhaust manifold for black mark/streak that might indicate an oil leak from bad valve cover seal. The V6 has a history of failed valve cover seals around the valve cover and the seal around the spark plug wells. Seal failure around the spark plug wells on these allows oil to fill the wells were the spark plug is installed. I have repaired 6 of these in the last year. The cabin filter is on the passenger side under the cowl plastic cover allowing any engine smells into the cabin.

Maybe just maybe he would like to bing that and see what you mean

LMAO... perhaps we prefer the ease of duckduckgo.com for all his searching needs..

again, not sure what sour gas smells like, but id imagine its burnt out coming from the engine bay through the cabin filter... need to look for leaks and replace filter... my .02

10k is dark blue. Like G-Rell said, 6k is wjat youre describing (white with blue tint).

Whenever my 6k bulbs go out, im switching to 5k so theyll be more white. I cant see lol

IMO... it all depends on the color of the car... black, white, grey, can get away with a little bluer (8 kelvin is the highest i'd go) the rest should stay in the 4300 - 6000k range... IMO :D

damn

that's nuts the cops around here aren't fans of the colorful lighting I have heard of a few people with the pink getting tagged for it.

They dont like it here either lol. My other car has nj tags, and at night i would get followed sometimes by the police. I took them out for now tho

They didnt bother me when i had greenish yellow in my LS

i think a 6k low and a 8k fog would look good if not, then 6k all around is perfect

With the fogs tinted, my 6k's dont match, looks in between 6 & 8 i would say. Still looks good

okay what did you go with? 8k 10k 12k. i want mine bright, but don't want to piss people off coming head on

If your looking for a white blueish color get 6000K. If you get higher then 6000K you will start loosing light output. DDM Tuning says stay between 4500K-6000K for maximum visibility. If you want to get 10000K or 12000K sell your Lincoln and buy a Honda.

Why does everyone say that? Lol sell the lincoln, buy a (insert jap car here). Not really asking for an answer here

Because those are usually the cars that have the stupid blue and purple lights and look like complete :q:q:q:q driven by high school kids.

Basically it makes you look like a huge F&F wannabe douche.

Wow, i guess that kind of thinking is what i shouldve expected from lux car owners. (Not saying you Black, just in general).

I do it to make my car stand out from the others around me. My car, my touch. I didnt realize so many despise dark blue lights and other colors on a luxury car haha

And it only looks like complete sh!t if it aint done right

lol, yeah i just graduated high school, but no i wanted just bright, thats why i asked what was brightest. at first i figured higher the brighter, now i know thanks to you guys. i order 6ks. low beam, but i order 9006 ? now i just seen on the sticky it says h11s. but when i went to sylvania hid lighting it said 9006?

thanks guys, and sorry to keep dragging this thread out, but where is the best place to get a chrome grill { that looks like my black one just chrome ha } for a decent price, and i still want to have the lincoln badge.

Idk where to get the grille, but most likely youre gonna have to reuse your emblem from the stock grille. Its just double sided tape or similar holding it on
