Has anyone ever thought about adding fender lights, or side markers, to their LS. I bought a cheap set from ebay to see what it would look like and I'm not sure. I was thinking about it becase I lost my side markers when I put the new LSE bumper on my 01. It might give it a better look. Here's a quick paint photo since I can't photoshop and don't have it at work. Any opinions are welcome, whether it be good or bad I can take it. The size and placement in the picture is just for an idea.

Edit: 02V8 and KD00LS sorry about jacking the pic it's the best side shot I could find.

i prefer the clean "no marker" look, i have actually been looking for a way to make mine match the car so you dont know they're there.

If you put it where it is in the picture it would be back far at an intersection, if you put it on the fore side of the wheel well it would be more visible=safer.

Thats just my opinion, do what you feel you'll like the best. Its your car, none of us have to look at it everyday, you do.

True but most cars have them on the fender.

IMO that far back and maybe a bit lower with a different style MIGHT look ok.

Smoke ones would be nice along with that being said.

No I would not do it. It would remind me too much of an Audi or something. I like the side having it clean with nothing on it.

I have been wanting to put some sidemarker lights on also. my idea was to put them in the side moulding part of the fender, but have not found anything that will fit good enough without looking cheap. Smoke is the perferred color for sure.

Don't just paint them, that looks cheap on a car thats not meant for cheap.

What I would do and have thought about was to cut off the mount for the lens that is on the inside of the bumper. Then epoxy ( or what ever works for this application ) some of that gutter guard mesh that people use for the bumper grilles on that spot on the inside of the bumper. Then I would add some fill for plastics on the front and behind the bumper on that mesh. Smooth it down and paint.

Pics?

True about most cars putting them where hes got it in the Paint Pic, but, why do what every car that has them does? Plus, if he could wire it into the side marker light, that would replace that since his 01 doesnt have them in the headlight assembly and it could be a legal requirement to have them. Just my .02

True again but why would he not be able to wire them onto a fender mounted marker?

IMO the fact that they stick out a bit and the shape would make them look even more out of place on the bumper. If it was something flush like the Infinity G35 then it would fit.

Oh, I think you've misunderstood where I was talking about. Its still on the fender, just on the fore side of the wheel well. Above the bumper, directly aft of the headlight.

I understand but I feel it being that high on either side of the wheel is off and would prefer it lower.

But again I don't think it is my taste period.

I know the quality of my Paint work is not good, at all. But, it still gets the point across.

Im sorry but that does not work at all in my eyes.

I would put a smoke one right where that emblem is if I ever brought myself to do it.

here is mine tinted.... old photo of my car but I had already done my markers. Much cleaner look I think than the stocks or adding one JDM style. Also the Infinty and BMW (previously mentioned) are displayed in the same pic

actually now that I look closer, you cant see theirs.... oh well you can see what I was talking about

here is a better pic. and at two weeks old, my car doesnt even look like this picture! HAHAHAHAHA

oops, here's the pic. 2006 BMW 330i:

Pete you hit the nail on the head that's what I want to do. My main concern is cutting into a perfectly good fender and having it be perfect. Wiring would not be an issue since I have the turn signal wiring just disconnected and taped up.
