After sitting in my living room for two weeks waiting first for the HID kit then decent weather I finally got me new headlights on. Both original HIDs worked fine but the housings were very cloudy and after hours of polishing with mediocre results I knew I wanted new ones. The halogen housing were an early Christmas gift from Heidi and I got an HID kit from mafioso. Ford makes you buy a kit with a new SCIL module but since I was going with HIDs still I didn't swap it. Install was strait forward and not hard except the polarity is reversed on the stock headlight wiring so the HIDs wouldn't come on. One call to mafioso and a little wire splicing and I was good to go. I cant figure out how to remove the stock ballast though. As far as I can tell there is a nut and a screw holding the bracket on but after removing them it still won't budge.

Does anyone know what angle the headlights should be at? I have to adjust them especially the drivers side as it's pointed right at the ground in front of the car. There are bubble levels with degree markings in each housing but I don't where to set them.

One 6000k bulb and one green tinted bulb. I put both 6000k ones in and will leave the green ones for shows and stuff.

the only way to get the stock ballasts out is to take the front bumper off, there are two bolts going through the steel core with nuts on them, the front bumper cover and inner foam strip cover the nuts, so to get to them you have to take the bumper cover off. it wont hurt to leave them in there unhooked. what are you doing with the old lenses? i have wanted to experiment with removing the lenses and trying to rechrome the insides like i do to first gen housings, would you want to sell them?

You can get the ballasts out but the bracket wont come out until you get the third bolt out of it (and you have to take off the bumper like jamie said)

but the ballasts will come out for sure, loosen the corner bolts, they are bolted together to the bracket

If you have the manual that comes in the car it tells you how to do it. You need to be on level ground and either engine on or suspension in trunk turned off so it is at it's proper height. Be careful on the little screw on the bubble adjuster, unscrew it too far and it will just fall out and good luck finding it. You know you will have to take the mounting screws out and slide the housings out to get the plastic cover off the back to get to the screw?
I was going to do mine early at night up against the garage doors so I could get both the same height.

Thanks guys. I have the manual at home so I will take a look and adjust them in the next few days. It's in the 20s today so I'm not standing outside for this. The ballasts I will probably leave in until spring.
